No app that I know of, but Onion Browser (if you're on iOS) might work. It's a tor browser, so it is a little slower. Not sure if there is an equivalent for Android, but I would bet there is.

Edit: Onion Browser is a way to get you around the web filter.

I use chrome for android, works pretty good now. There isn't an option for desktop view. There is but it doesn't work for kinja. Its what I use 99.9% of the time as I don't have a job with computer.

It used to suck, but through the updates it has gotten better.

Oppo on the phone is actually pretty decent. If you want to see what it looks like, just squeeze your desktop browser window down to a narrow strip. It automatically converts to mobile mode (which is pretty damned slick, if you ask me.) But mobile is (almost) fully functional, in that you can comment, create content, and post pictures. You can't make hyperlinks, though (at least I don't know how if it's possible).

hmm we also use websense, wonder if we'll start blocking car sites too... Anyway, after recent changes I now prefer gawkers sites on my phone. (You get less text formatting options though).

Also, protip: you have to rotate to landscape to get the search box, that stumped me for a while.

No idea. Are you using your company wi-fi or phone connection?

There's a Gawker app for Android. It's not that much different than just using your browser but the comment function doesn't lag like it does when I use the browser.

I have unlimited 4G on my phone, my company wifi is the one that blocked the sites

Watch out buddy, you may be next, It is kinda ridiculous all other sites on kinja are unblocked. I dont need too much text formatting to be honest, I just comment on posts during the day and write most of my blog posts after I get home anyway. Thanks for the tip about the search box, I was wondering where it was in the mobile edition.

They don't block kotaku? So far that one is the only one we block (everything game related on the internet is blocked) and the social media block will eat anything with kinja in the DNS, but not the embedded posting. Websense is a strange proxy.

That's why I wondering how you are connecting. Those sites should work fine on 4G. If they don't, I have no suggestions.
